My Journey as a Campus Director – The Hult Prize Experience (2020–21)

Back in 2020–21, I had the incredible opportunity to serve as the Campus Director of the Hult Prize Foundation at my university. It was a time when the world was still struggling with the uncertainties of the pandemic, yet young innovators around the globe were striving to create sustainable solutions for the most pressing global challenges. Being part of that movement felt both inspiring and transformative.

As Campus Director, my mission was to build a platform for students to think beyond textbooks—to imagine themselves as social entrepreneurs capable of changing the world. I led a team of passionate volunteers, each driven by a shared belief that business could be a force for good. Together, we organized workshops, mentorship sessions, and awareness campaigns to prepare students for the Hult Prize challenge, themed around “Food for Good: Transforming Food into a Vehicle for Change.”

What made the experience truly memorable was watching ideas come alive. Students who had never imagined pitching to investors were suddenly presenting innovative startup concepts tackling food insecurity, waste management, and sustainability. My role was not just about management—it was about mentorship, motivation, and creating an ecosystem for creativity in a time when physical meetings were nearly impossible.

Despite the remote challenges of that year, we hosted our On-Campus Final virtually, connecting participants, judges, and speakers from different parts of the world. The energy was electric, and the event became one of the most engaging student-led initiatives of that academic year.

This experience taught me the real meaning of leadership and adaptability. I learned how to communicate across cultures, how to keep a team motivated during uncertainty, and how to transform an abstract vision into a concrete impact. More importantly, it showed me the power of youth-led innovation—that even small ideas, when nurtured with passion, can shape a better future.

Looking back, my time as Hult Prize Campus Director wasn’t just a leadership experience—it was a chapter of growth, resilience, and belief in the power of purpose-driven entrepreneurship.
